The great half-pound loss

Friday's weigh-in: 290.5

There were a lot of contributing factors to this one. After seven weeks my period FINALLY came (and with a vengeance, I might add), Saturday I was at a wedding that involved beer, mashed potatoes and cake.

The biggest contributing factor of the shitty weight loss was, I think, that I moved from phase 1 to phase 2 of SBD. I switched my eggs for oatmeal in the mornings and incorporated the cup of brown rice or sweet potato into supper. I don't think I am quite ready to do this. I will eat the fruit, eat the occasional sweet potato, but as far as the oatmeal, rice and whole grain brads go, I don't yet have control. I cannot eat half a cup of rice, I want three cups. I can't eat one piece of toast, I want four. With butter. And pasta, well, forget it. I want the whole box. Be it white or wheat, I can eat three bowls in a sitting, swimming in butter, cheese, salt and pepper. When it comes to grain-based carbohydrates, moderation is out of the question.

This sucks, because I was looking forward to brown-rice sushi and Jimmy John's Beach Club on 7 grain bread. But I'd rather see a bigger loss on the scale then have the fleeting and momentary pleasure of a carbohydrate in my mouth.

So I am going back on a semi-modified phase 1. I was never a big fruit-eater, so fruit in moderation is easy. It is also full of fiber and vitamins, which I sorely need since I have been battling a cold all week. If it has flour in it though; sorry Charlie, no can do.
